Good British Design

Jamie Josef Fry is a British designer-maker based in the North East of England.

Jamie Josef Fry Studio launched in January 2011. From this base, at Lime Street, deep in the heart of the creative hub of Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley, Jamie works on private/commercial commissions and develops his own range of products.  Jamie focusses on solving design challenges with simple solutions, taking inspiration from nature and long walks along the local coastline, searching for the perfect pebble or piece of driftwood. His work includes the design and making of bespoke products and furniture, as well as  interior and exterior spaces for private and commercial clients.

With projects varying from his now trade-mark shelving and bespoke contemporary furniture designs, to garden and commercial spaces in the UK and design/renovation projects in Greece and Spain, Jamie has established himself as a true all-round designer.

Jamie has exhibited at The Baltic in Newcastle design event, London Tent Design Week and has been selected to exhibit in Brussels at the UK Trade and Investment ‘Best of British’ event in June 2013.

He has enjoyed press coverage in the UK edition of Elle Decoration, Switzerland in Die Weltwoche and in South America, Russian (web) and Spanish editions of Architectural Digest.  The UK’s Living North magazine featured  Jamie in the first of their “Meet the Maker‘ series.

London design week - HEBHOMES - Scottish eco kit houses

HEBHOMES - SCOTTISH ECO ARCHITECT DESIGNED KIT HOUSES

HERE'S WHAT THEY SAY;

At HEBHOMES we promise you all the simplicity and flexibility of a self-build kit-house together with exquisite contemporary design and the most modern energy-efficient construction.  Our Structurally Insulated Panel system (SIP) is the new generation of green technology and is set to replace timber frame as the standard kit construction of the future.  Exceptionally efficient and quick to install, you could be in your new SIP house faster than you ever expected.  And we can deliver and erect across the world.

HebHomes' portfolio of houses is the culmination of 18 years of award winning architecture from Dualchas Architects.  Inspired by traditional rural architecture, the HebHomes signature design combines modern living spaces within a form that is both sensitive to architectural heritage and local landscapes.

HEBHOMES is inspired by a deep commitment - that our landscapes and our environment are precious. This means not only considering the energy efficiency of our designs, but also how our designs fit in to our landscapes, so that they are enhanced, rather than desecrated.

Our customers are also inspired by a similar motivation. They want an energy efficient modern house, with beautiful interiors and expansive glazing so that they can enjoy the splendour of the views. But they also want to know that their house is comfortable in its setting.

We believe that we achieve this by following the examples of the past - by using the simple narrow plans and careful proportions of northern European rural architecture, our houses have a cultural continuity which means they look as if they belong - even though they are modern in design and technology. Our hope is that future generations will recognise this and cherish the HEBHOMES house as part of their own cutural heritage.
Good architecture can help make wonderful places even better.

"Haoshi" is "good things", they believe that life is full of happy and interesting things.

What they say;

Haoshi Design was established in 2009, named by the Chinese pronunciation "good things". In our daily life, emotions are often affected by trifles easily, and it is easy to neglect some "good things" around us which can bring us joyfulness and satisfaction. So we add a kind of purity and peace into our design concept. By using concrete exquisite technical art to present the abstract life concept, designers's life philosophy can present completely and perfectly through the visual art.
